Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College is committed to provide a conducive environment and equal opportunity to all students with special needs and those from challenged backgrounds. Our college provides necessary concessions and accomodations for students with special needs. A significant number of students come from SC/ST/MBC/BC communities and they are provided with various scholarships and financial assistance.The college also conducts FDP for teachers on dyslexia and other learning disabilities.

The college buildings are provided with ramps, rails and wheelchair accessible restrooms.Students with special needs can avail the services of scribes or IT facilitated exams based on their needs. These infrastructure facilities are constantly upgraded to empower the students.

Special Needs and Equal Opportunity Cell facilitates affirmative actions in order to ensure equal opportunity to all within its folds. It tries to create an environment to eliminate any type of discrimination and create a social congenial atmosphere of healthy interaction for an all-inclusive growth of the institute. This cell serves as an enabler and ensures all the students get access to various scholarships, concessions and schemes to promote inclusivity and equity in education.

Objectives

• To help and empower the persons with disabilities –students, teacher, non-teaching staff to participate fully in the academic, intellectual, social and cultural life of college on an equal basis on par with other.
• To aid and advise the students belonging to marginalized sections including the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward communities, minority communities,women and people special needs pursuing various programmes in the College.
• Supervise and oversee the effective implementation of policies on programmes for addressingspecials needs and to provide equal opportunity to all.
• To prepare barrier free formalities/procedures for admission/ registration of students belonging to the disadvantaged groups of society.
• To disseminate the information related to schemes and programmes for the welfare of the socially weaker section as well as notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Government, or other related agencies/organizations issued from time to time.
