About

The Department: An Overview

Established in the year 1964, along with the inception of the college, the Department of English offers foundation courses in English and Soft Skills. With a strength of seven teaching faculty, the department strives to maintain quality and standards in framing the curriculum, innovative teaching methodology and assessment patterns. With the college becoming autonomous in the year 2009, the department put together a contemporary syllabus for Foundation English and Soft Skills courses, tailor-made to suit the needs of the students and to enhance their employability. The department also brought out the new and improved syllabus in the form of textbooks in the year 2010 and later the revised syllabus in 2013. The department has so far compiled eight textbooks. The department also has a well-equipped language lab to reinforce the students’ classroom work and to facilitate quicker acquisition of the language.
