D. G. Vaishnav College is a prominent institution that has shown due diligence to the role of women in the development of community, society and nation as a whole. D.G.V.C. hosts around 300 employees and 7000 students of which more than half of them are women. DGVC has ZERO tolerance policy against sexual harassment. The DGVC Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) had been established on 04.11.2019 according to norms as specified in the New Act 2013 on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace: Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal. Earlier, the DGVC Women's Cell was looking after the welfare of the women employees and students, to facilitate redressal of their grievances, to help uphold a harmonious atmosphere and to enable women to follow their work with self-esteem and encouragement.

Mission

To provide a safe environment – free of sexual harassment and gender insensitivity by raising awareness, combating sexual harassment through formal redressal mechanism and promote gender sensitization among employees and students of the institution.

 

 

Objectives

• To promote gender awareness and gender sensitization among the employees and students of the institution
• To receive all complaints from employees and students regarding sexual harassment that occur within the campus
• To provide mechanism for just and fair dispute resolution
• To submit appropriate recommendations to the higher authorities
